Moody Blues Concert,
The venerable band, The Moody Blues, played to a sold out crowd at the amphitheater last night.  A very nice evening tho the weather was a little chilly.  The music was excellent with strong vocals and harmony.  It was overheard more than once, I forgot that was 'their' song.  A great evening of music and memories.

As the locals all know, St Johns County passed an ordinance allowing all pubs and lounges to stay open until 2:00 am.  St Augustine Beach and St Augustine followed their lead and passed the same closing time.  For St Augustine, it is a trial for a couple months to see how it works out.

New things coming soon!  Please register and let us know you're out there!  We want to add a new forum section, a restaurant review,  and a look at the art galleries and bed and breakfast inns in the next few months.  If you can, we would appreciate your reviews and feedback.  Yes, we will add a feedback section very soon with a new look to the website.  Please check back often and let your friends know of us.  Thanks!

We stopped at American Graffiti Saturday evening.  The football coverage was great!  Outside on the deck we found Chris Emerson providing the entertainment.  Very nice acoustic set with Chris singing everything from Johnny Cash to Lynyrd Skynyrd.  Chris hails from North Carolina and we found him to be very friendly and accomodating to all.  All covers were exceptional and Chris has 3 CD's for sale.   Stop by and see him Thursdays and Saturdays at American Graffiti from 6:00 til .......

We met and enjoyed an afternoon with Trevor Compton.  An acoustic set with a very nice repertoire of music as he played at a birthday party at Panama Hatties.  Would recommend  you stop by and have a good time if he is playing near you!

Dave Dowling
I have sometimes described myself as “a writer who owns a guitar.”  Actually I own several, plus a banjo, a mandolin, 2 button accordions, a stand-up bass, lots of harmonicas, penny whistles, and kazoos.  I am not a “jazz musician” – except for the kazoo.  Jazz kazoo is easy.

I have been a professional performer since my late teens and I love doing it.  If someone asks “Are you going to play?” I say “Oh no, I’m going to work.”  If someone asks “Are you going to work?” I say “Oh no, I’m going to play!”
There is no difference in my opinion.  The only real division in my life is whether I am asleep or awake.  In spite of withstanding some hard knocks in life, I am a very, very lucky man.

Blue Sage Shoes at the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival, May 2006

Blue Sage Shoes is: John Winters, Deanna Webb Koebnick and Chris Koebnick.  The vocals are dynamic, and the song selection is great... The group chooses to play music from  modern folk singer-songwriters like John Prine.  Throw in some James Taylor, a lot of CSN, Neil Young, original music, and some of the very best live vocal harmonies you will ever hear. Stir in a lot of great onstage energy and you have  Blue Sage Shoes!
